The Atlantic Rocketman - Rowing solo across the Atlantic
On 22 February 31 Club members enjoyed lunch and a fascinating talk from Port Solent resident Andrew Major, also known as “The Atlantic Rocketman”.
Over 63 days , starting in December 2024, Andrew took part in the annual “World’s Toughest Row”, rowing solo from The Canary Islands to Antigua, raising funds for Elton John’s AIDS Foundation.
Andrew is truly inspirational, and it was clear from the number of questions that he received during and after the talk that people were fascinated and moved by his story.
As ever, Dorina and her team at O Sole Mio Port Solent provided delicious food and a warm welcome for the club.
That concludes the winter talks for this season – onward to winter 2026/2027!
